The Agitavi global research agenda was established to focus on research in business operations within the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry and the key software-using sectors.
Specifically, this research is focused on the local software economy and software business operation, rather than on technology issues pertaining to this industry.
Agitavi's regional research centers in Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East and the Americas share a common research agenda, which aims to:
- Provide localization of global content and research outcomes in terms of relevance and case studies for each region.
- Provide a range of research and advisory services to both ICT vendors and governments in the regions for the development of local software economies.
- Undertake collaborative, benchmarking and best practice research.
- Structure targeted training programmes for the ICT communities in each region.
The key research agenda is based on continuing research and execution across three areas:
- Local Software Economies (LSE) and ICT Industrial Clusters
- Enterprise Agility Model (EAM) and Software Business Strategy
- Software Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SIE)
Three key outputs are generated from these research processes:
- Publications: Publication of research by academic joint venture partners in the various Agitavi CEs
- Programmes and Tools: Creation of various capability building programmes, frameworks and tools which are based on the LSE, EAM and SIE research, which are then delivered into the local market via Agitavi research and consulting practices (see Agitavi International in appendix)
- Further research: Development of further basic and applied research based on the individual components of the LSE, EAM and SSU research agendas.
